Janet Oakes
Janet joined CPL in 2010 as Commercial Director to oversee the company’s financial growth and to develop cross platform business plans for all the company’s output. Her role is to maximise business opportunities and revenues for the current catalogue of programmes from A League Of Their Own to All Star Mr & Mrs and to seek out commercial partners for future commissions. Janet sits on the board alongside Managing Director Danielle Lux, Creative Director Murray Boland and Director of Production Heather Hampson.
Previously at Hasbro Janet oversaw finance and operations as part of the team that set up a computer games division introducing traditional board games such as Risk and Monopoly to new computer literate consumers. She then joined Celador’s newly formed distribution business as Financial Controller, working with a small team taking Who Wants to Be A Millionaire into more than 100 territories and developing a hugely successful ancillary rights licensing programme for the brand.
At Celador she then became Finance Director, working with the group businesses across film, television production, radio, television distribution and licensing. During this time she also supported CPL’s management buy out of Celador and the sale of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire to 2waytraffic before moving to 2waytraffic herself in 2006 as Commercial Director, overseeing the UK operations during another period of business expansion and the company’s eventual sale to *Sony *in 2008.
