This major, new, eight part sci-fi comedy-drama will premiere on Audible in both the US and UK on October 8th, 2020.
Produced by CPL for Audible in the US, High Strangeness stars Sophie McShera (Downton Abbey, Disney’s Cinderella) as whip-smart young heroine, Cassie Chambers – a part-time barista and frustrated paranormal researcher. When she travels to the sleepy English countryside on the trail of a weird event, she is reluctantly thrown together with Glen Hedley (Adam James – Doctor Foster, I May Destroy You), an uptight American agent of a shady organisation.
This mis-matched duo soon discover that they’re humanity’s only defence against malign ultra-terrestrials from a different dimension. These beings have noticed our Earth… and that’s very bad news for us. With interfering locals, obstructive bosses and a fanatical cult getting in the way, and only Cassie’s best friend Amanda as reliable help, Cassie and Glen must figure out why this unique enemy is here and turn it back before it’s too late – for all of us.
High Strangeness is a ground-breaking, immersive audio series which also stars Anna Chancellor (The Hour, Pennyworth, Mapp & Lucia) as Glen’s boss, Commander Quite, alongside Mandeep Dhillon, Amit Shah, Kevin Eldon, Javone Prince, Nina Wadia, Niky Wardley and a host of other comic voices.
