Murray Boland
As Creative Director, Murray drives the creative programming of CPL. He joined CPL as Head of Factual Entertainment in 2005 and now jointly owns the company with Danielle Lux and Heather Hampson. Alongside Danielle, Murray is responsible for many of CPL’s successful programmes such as A League of Their Own and Magic Numbers.
Prior to joining CPL Murray was Head of Programmes for E4. He was responsible for a variety of original commissioned output, including the RTS and Montreux award-winning Your Face or Mine, Infamous Fives, The Pilot Show (all of which also transferred to Channel 4), A Wife for William, Fool Around With… and Five Go Dating. He acquired shows to launch on the channel including US smash hit, Desperate Housewives, The OC, Smallville and Point Pleasant.
Murray began his career in broadcasting as a reporter on a range of entertainment and factual programmes including Network 7. He moved to the BBC as Assistant Producer on a variety of documentary series and in 1991 produced the pilot that won the commission for The Big Breakfast on Channel 4. He went on to co-devise and produce The Sunday Show for BBC 2 and to produce two series of The Word for Channel 4. Murray was appointed Director of Programmes at MTV where he was responsible for Video Clash, Cribs, Fanatic and Singled Out.
