A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN RETURNS TO SKY1 HD FOR A THIRD SERIES…
Ready to score a sensational hat trick, A League of Their Own returns for a third series on Sky1 HD and this time the unique sports entertainment panel show has been extended to an action packed 60 minute programme. James Corden will once again take on hosting duties, aided by team captains Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff and their regular fellow panellists, Sky Sports presenter Georgie Thompson and comedian John Bishop.
The new series will see the show being recorded in a bigger studio with a new and improved set and even more spectacular sporting challenges – including a 22 ton water tank which has never before been used in a TV studio. With a supporting cast of celebrity guests, A League of Their Own will continue to put the two teams through their paces. With good sportman-like humour, the participants’ sporting knowledge and physical skills will be tested in a manner quite unlike any other sports show.
A League of Their Own is a CPL Production for Sky1 HD, commissioned by Duncan Gray. Executive Producers are Murray Boland, Danielle Lux, and Jim Pullin and Series Producer is David Taylor.
Duncay Gray, Head of Entertainment, Sky 1 HD, Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky 3 says, “When Sky has a winner we back it to the hilt. James, John, Freddie, Jamie and Georgie enjoy being with each other so much, and the writing and production is so strong, that it made total sense to build the show into an hour long format. It will have the same fun, trivia and glamour but with bigger stunts and games to make it an hour long weekly treat.”
Murray Boland, Executive Producer, says, “We are delighted to be returning to Sky 1 HD with an hour long show for our third series. A League of Their Own will continue to be a must-see for sports fans and brilliant entertainment for everyone else. We have some great tricks up our sleeves which I can’t wait to see to come to life in the studio.”
