CPL PRODUCTIONS SIGNS DEAL WITH AUDIOGO

CPL Productions radio department has confirmed an output deal with AudioGO, (formerly known as BBC Audiobooks) the UK’s leading audiobook publisher, to release most of their back catalogue of radio titles as well as future releases as ‘download to own’.

In their first ever commercial release, the Sony Gold award-winning The National Theatre of Brent’s Giant Ladies That Changed The World will become one of the first CPL Productions titles to become available to own on AudioGO alongside the popular Ronnie Corbett sitcom When The Dog Dies (Series 1 and 2).

A tongue-in-cheek tribute to the suffragettes, Giant Ladies That Changed The World was originally broadcast on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour.

Written and performed by Patrick Barlow and John Ramm, Giant Ladies That Changed The World is produced by CPL Productions Head of Radio Liz Anstee and directed by Patrick Barlow.

Produced by CPL Productions for Radio 4, When The Dog Dies reunites Ronnie Corbett with Ian Davidson and Peter Vincent, the writers of the top rated 1980’s TV comedy Sorry!

Corbett plays Sandy Hopper, a granddad happily growing old along with his dog Henry and his lodger, Dolores (Liza Tarbuck). Produced by Liz Anstee, a third series of When The Dog Dies has just been commissioned by Radio 4 for broadcast in 2012.

Giant Ladies That Changed The World and When The Dog Dies (Series 1 and 2) are now available to download from www.audiogo.co.uk at a cost of £5.49 each.

CPL Productions Head of Radio Liz Anstee said: “I am delighted ‘When The Dog Dies’ and ‘Giant Ladies That Changed The World’ are available to own via AudioGO. All three series have been very popular on Radio 4 and it’s fantastic they can now be accessed by a wider audience.”
